    Ohhh MacClellans

How sweet the sound....I was torn between MacPhersons, Maclellans, and Naills. To be fiscally responsible I went with the Naills. Maybe my next set will be MacClellans. What reeds are you playing in them?

I'm playing Crozier cane tongues in them. Got them put together last night and they sound beautiful. The drones locked in right away. The bass is a bit touchy - a little movement goes a long way. I still need to work on the chanter/reed combo. I've got an Apps G3 that is playing sharp on all but the hi A and E. Going to try another reed in it after this week.
I'm a well rounded guy - English motorcycles, Irish brew, and Scottish clothes and music.

Have you tried manipulating the reed at all?

Was it the reed you were playing in the other pipes? Have you tied raising the reed in the seat just a skosh? I have a few apps in a Naill chanter. I like them but really like the Troy medium!

Check out the dunsire forums, if you haven't already. There must be a thread on the reeds best for his pipes!

Wow! That's quite a upgrade from dunbars. Not that there is anything wrong with Dunbars. I play McCallums. Also with croziers but I'm a big fan of Ross chanter reeds. Huge sound really fills the room, and really stable (well as stable as a bagpipe chanter can get I suppose).
