A Prize Winner
Greetings all, 4 August, 1212pmMST
My thanks to all of you for the kind comments. With each one I make, I swear that it will be the last one, but it never seems to work out that way.

The Wales National tartan shown is VERY different to the one we have over here!

Welsh National Tartan
In regard to McClef's post, I don't have much doubt that you may be right on this. It was listed as "Welsh National" when I bought it, and your comment made me wonder........
I checked with the Scottish Tartans Authority to see if they have it listed.
They do. It, however is registered as "Welsh District", registration # 1523, registered in 1967.
I would like to see a picture of what you are calling "Welsh National" just out of curiosity.
Sometimes the waters we wade through on the quest of tartan identification can be somewhat muddy. I've spent years poring over tartans, and the more I learn, the less I understand to some degree.
It's just my own personal quest to find repeating patterns in the chaos.
Fide et Fortitudine, aye!

About the Welsh National, it looks just like the Welsh National as I know it. Maybe McClef is thinking of the St. David's tartan?

To illustrate what I am talking about, here's a typical thread count for the Black Watch/Campbell tartan.
B32 K6 B6 K6 B6 K32 G30 K6 G30 K32 B30 K6 B6 K6
The "K32" black threads that I have highlighted are missing in the version you pictured.
