Okay, I just discovered this great thread, and while going thru it came across this picture & had to ask: where did you find this Alan? These are friends of mine (Jim & Deb) from here in Bellingham!

If you look at the picture's "properties" you can see its from the Neokilt website.

    Best regards,

I am now the proud (somewhat) owner of this dress. It's a fully lined silk taffeta. It was a sample we had around the office. It kinda fits, but the model had lower hips than I do. I'm going to tweak the style so that it fits the way it should on me and post a pic when I'm done.

Wonderful! Can't wait to see it!

Love all of the other contributions everyone

I'm too lazy to go back to quote the reply about the Princess of Wales memorial tartan, but I just wanted to say that I LOVE that tartan as well

Well, I must be nuts to even try to alter it. After all, once that's done I'll have to go shoe shopping just to wear it! And where the heck will I find raspberry or fuchsia coloured shoes?!

I know where - go shopping where the ladies who wear hats to church do their shopping. But anyway, I don't think you're thinking broadly enough about the accessories. You could go for contrast - I bet you would have no trouble finding something in lime or kiwi or a more basic green. Or what about an analogous color like orange? Go dark - maybe a burgundy spectator shoe. I also like Ali's suggestion of a nude shoe - but only if you raise the hemline a foot or so.

    Have fun,
    Rex.
