I live in the outer Hebrides we get a bit of bad weather and snow here and a hell of a lot of wind. The important thing is keeping the hands, feet and head covered and you will be fine stout boots and good hose. Warm jacket hat and gloves. Most heat is lost through the extremities and head is about 25% of yer heat loss. Stick with a heavy 16 + or more weight fabric and a good 8 (I prefer 10 ) yard kilt.
You will be fine.
