I had the opportunity whilst in London to see the stage show of "The 39 Steps" - described in the press as the "....funniest show in the West End." I know - the film is a thriller, a murder mystery, but this was performed with just 4 characters (and a lot of quick costume changes) - and it was hilarious.

In the show, two male actors played the incidental parts, including the husband and wife who ran the hotel Richard Hannay stops at whilst handcuffed to the female. The two men both wore Stewart tartan kilts - although the one plaing the wife wore hers reversed - making it appear more like a tartan skirt. I think that this was on purpose and not the result of a rather hurried quick change off stage.

Do see it, if you get a chance.
