There is also Oakland in Susquehaqnna County (the county below Binghamton, NY). Oakland is just across the Susquehanna River from the borough of Susquehanna. (this is the end of the PA geography lesson)

    Cayuse:
I'll try to give you a call some point tomorrow, though don't be offended if I don't; I'm really busy this week.
I looked up some info on Ligonier, and it sounds like a good time, but I'm not sure I'll be able to make it. It's outside of Allegheny County, which means that free public transportation (for being a student) likely won't take me all the way there, so hopefully it's a walkable/runnable distance beyond the reach of the Port Authority. Do you know where the county line is? The Ligonier Highland Games are at Idlewild Park and SoakZone, 9am-6pm, for $15, right?

    Santa Wally:
Maybe that's why my mailing address is Pittsburgh, PA instead of Oakland, PA, though I guess the zip code would take care of that. Did you look that up, or was that prior knowledge? I guess being Santa and all, you would remember the names and locations of obscure cities.

I did look this up. Here are all the Oaklands in PA that the great repository of human knowledge is aware of:

I don't know how far away from you Ligionier is. You may want to post something here to see if anyone else is intending to go from your area. It's a pretty popular event among those of Scottish or Irish interest in Western PA.

Matt Newsome has wrtitten extensively and has many posts and answered many other questions concerning all kilts and some specifically about the Great Kilt. Search Xmarks and The Scottish Tartan Museum. Here are some websites and YouTubes concerning the Great Kilt or Belted Plaid.

I hope these help you. If you can't open any PM me and I will try and figure out the problem. Hope to see you at Ligionier.

Welcome to the site. I and a few others ont he site are from the Altoona area, about 100 miles west of you. If you can, get to the Ligonier games, you won't regret it.

That was prior personal knowledge. Susquehanna County was one of counties that was in my job territory as well as kids in Santa's Good Book.
