When I was a child, my mother used to wear a wartime designed dress. A light buff colour with contrasting collars and cuffs. The sleeves were 3/4 length. I don't know what the style of collar is called, but it was like a mandarin collar but turned down (does that make any sense). Any way the collar and cuffs were made from scrap material and buttoned on with tiny hidden buttons. (clothing rationing was still in force) There was a green stripey set; A plain maroon set; a Royal Stewart set and one with thousands of tiny dots that I really hated. Any way the point being that if one was clever, you could have one garment with various additions.

Yes, I can see that -- my sister had a wool coat with detachable fur collar, similar construction. Might keep me from having to make the jacket myself, just find a suitable ready-made and fiddle up the trimmings!

I just ordered some shooting socks, that look like the green ones with red dicing on the cuff... this helps me, because I feel I made a good choice... so good, I ordered another pair, green, with mustard checks..

			I Wonder...

I had a wonder last night if HRH would respond to an invitation from XMTS to be an honourary member of some sort or other? Even if he just made one guest "appearance" it would be quite remarkable, and it seems that he would undoubtedly have something fascinating and intriguing to say (as he always seems to be doing in these photos). It would be very interesting to hear what advice he would give on the wearing of the kilt, too, eh wot?
Just a thought that I will leave for others more capable to pick up and run with...

PS: isn't that the Stewart Hunting tartan HRH is wearing in the above?

Looking very sharp, and I REALLY like the exotic hosery! I wonder how long HRH had to save-up before he could get his kilts?
