Harpenden Games is the largest Scottish gathering in the densely populated English home counties, is very close to Luton airport and is always well attended, usually there are a few xmarkers there.
For a lively and thriving Scottish games with a truly international flavour North Berwick Games would be hard to beat. They are held on the second Saturday in August which is during the Edinburgh festival and as North Berwick is only twenty miles from Edinburgh, many of the festival's overseas visitors also attend the North Berwick games where they can see pipe bands from all over the world as visiting international bands compete against the local bands at North Berwick as a warm up for the World Pipe Band Championships which are always held in Glasgow the following week.
I'd love for you to come to my local Hawick Highland Games, we did not have any stalls selling kilts this year, and accommodation is cheaper, but in fairness I have to admit we are a sparsely populated area so our games do not have a large attendance.
