    I don't think doormen in pubs in Scotland would take kindly to sgians on the inside of your leg. Too much like concealment. As it is, I always offer mine up as I go through the door before being asked for it.

    It's use as a gralloch knife makes most sense.

    The conformation of the leg may have something to do with this. On the outside of the leg the calf muscle produces a slight depression at about two o'clock, an excellent position for jewelry. On the inside of the leg the muscle extends farther forward, producing a depression at about 11 o'clock, a more convenient location for a tool because it's easily accessible to either hand.

    On the rare occasions when I wear a knife at all I, being right-handed, generally prefer the inside of the left leg.
