And I missed the running of the Victoria Marathon again this year. Maybe next year......
I have completed 13 of them, and celebrated 13 Thanksgivings in Victoria, BC When they name the city and the marathon after you, you just have to go!
    Victoria

Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.

Thanks! A pleasant day indeed. It falls much closer to the actual harvest for which we are to be thankful.

And we are! Boxes of green tomatoes ripening in the living room. Boxes of hot peppers curing, Hubbard squashes stored in the back office. Cabbages by the score in cold storage. About 125 kilograms of potatoes in the root cellar, along with onions and dozens of litres of tomatoes, canned greens, canned fruit, jams and jellies. We have two monstrous pickle crocks fermenting away (and will pick up two more in a couple of weeks in Victoria...) as well as bins and bins of carrots and rutabagas stored in sawdust, and some buckets of grain for bread, steaming and sprouting.

I have managed to pretty much cure a weak back and chronic limp from a motorcycle accident.

We finished filling a 4-cord woodshed over the weekend. Now it's just cleanup work and getting the tractor ready to plow snow.

Made my secret "Seasonal Vegetarian Entree" and a big pot of gravy, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. My favourite cake for dessert.

Life is good. The advantage of Canadian Thanksgiving is that I can turn my Christmas lights on "after Thanksgiving" like I did in the States, and get an extra month out of them.

13! That's great! We look forward to meeting you up here one year. My wife ran the RVM on Sunday (and I did bicycle support), and then we had a big Thanksgiving dinner at my brother (RobbyMc) and his wife's place. We'll celebrate the American Thanksgiving as well.

Landmark, Manitoba. Thanksgiving Day 2009. This, Catherine, is why it's so early!
