Okay, I admit it; I'm a geek. I used to play D&D every week.
One of my favorite characters was a halfling known as Lord Bondro, High Diplomat of the Vale. One of his most noteworthy accomplishments was getting the mayor of a large town to finance a shipping caravan to the Vale by getting the mayor stoned on "special" pipeweed. Of course, the Vale didn't exist and the mayor let Bondro handle all the money.
I now spend my Saturday evenings doing other things:

There is an entertaining thread about D&D, nerdyness, and such here:
Weirdest response you've ever gotten when telling someone you play D&D
Mind you it's huge. But some of it is very funny. And occasionally it goes off the rails. So, nothing like threads in other forums then...
I will not reveal which of the posters in it is myself -- a +5 sword to anyone that can spot me.
Also, I refuse to answer any questions about my evasiveness...

I'm happy to say that D&D not only taught my dyslexic cousin how to read, but it also keeps him off the streets -- he works for Wizards of the Coast.

Foiled again by Flash player and firewalls! I guess I'll have to wait until I get home this evening to watch it. Sadly, it's been several years since I've been able to join a regular game. I thought I had found a game a year or two ago, but they were interested in their weed almost as much as the game. Maybe one of these days I'll be able to find a game in the area. I really do miss it.

We had a rule...if you fell out then your character got to open all doors check dark pits and be the first into the fray no matter the class.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear
