Probably symbolically appropriate but from a safety standpoint brighter colors are far less likely to be hit by passing automobiles than greys and blacks, especially early in the morning (mist, low light, and a lot of idiots on the road without enough coffee in their gullets yet) and at sunset (flat light, sun in your eyes, same idiots as above in a hurry to get home while texting their significant other about what to pick up at the grocery on the way).
