I find that extremely ironic, considering the reason men resisted women wearing pants is because it was too revealing. I mean, when wearing pants, you can see the shape of a woman's rear end, the curve of her legs, etc.! A skirt (well, a proper dress) is actually a more modest garment than pants.

Exactly. I have always thought this. I told a woman this who always wore pants and she had no idea. Once I explained it she understood and did include more skirts into her wardrobe.
