I notice how many of the participants of both sexes were wearing sashes in tartan. Was that something for the event, or is that commonly done there? Given the thread here about the tartan sash Sportkilt is offering for men's use, I find it intriguing.
When you signed up for the dancing world record attempt they gave you a strip of tartan... pretty much so everyone was wearing a piece. They never bothered with me as I had a tartan kilt and scarf on. They never really told people what to do with them - although a lot of women were walking about with them on as sashes during the day and I'm guessing the men thought they'd follow!
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.
