I wore brown leathers and a charcoal braemar for quite a long time, mostly out of economy admittedly, but I found it quite suitable nonetheless.

Drankin' at my wedding last year in a different charcoal argyle from the Tartans Museum... (sorry that piccy's kinda small)

Side Note: my mate James there is shown in his first kilt here that he bought for my wedding! Awesome!

A better shot from a few years ago but showing brown shoes...

    HALF dreadful?

I have a pair of hose that are cream and white argyle, with a red raker. At any distance beyond smelling range, they look to be off white with the red (diagonal windowpane) pattern. Considering the strong emotions cream and white hose so often arouse, I am wondering about these.

Their advantage to me is that they are practically unique, they provide the light color, but they have a pattern. Additionally, the single red yarn goes well with most red tartans.

    But they are mostly cream.

SO, amongst other specific hosiery questions and comments, I thought I'd ask for this more general advice, particularly from the anti-white adherents.
