It was great! Glasgow is a fantastic place for a piper that week. Every day, Monday through Friday, there were two or three different noontime concerts, two or three afternoon concerts, and a like number of evening concerts. Venues included George Square, the College of Piping, and the National Piping Centre.

A funny thing about playing in George Square was the tourist coaches driving by and the American tourists saying "Oh look! There are some authentic Scotsmen!"

Every time a local asked me where I was from and I answered "Los Angeles" they would reply in a manner like "Why would you want to be HERE?!" as if Glasgow was a Third World city or something. They seemed dismayed, astonished, than a person from California would want to visit Glasgow (Maryhill no less!)
