			Leslie tartan fabric

					Greetings all, 8 January, 557amMST
Don't know if any of you have seen this yet, but here goes.......

 http://http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayIS...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

This is 18 oz, military weight kilt fabric in 3.5 metre cut pieces. This was the official Regimental tartan of the King's Own Scottish Borderers.

I am going to be making up a kilt for a pal of mine in Dumfries.

A real steal at the price. Only a couple days left on it so act soon if you want to get in on it.

 Regards aye,

 T.

 Thanks for the OP!

It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

Please be careful if you are in the States and considering buying fabric from this vendor. A 3.5 meter piece of DW fabric would only cost you 23gbp ($36.50USD), but would cost an ADDITIONAL 38+gbp ($63USD) to ship. So your bargain priced $36.50 3.5 meters of D/W fabric (about $5USD per SW meter) suddenly becomes $100USD (about $14-15 per SW meter or $30 per DW meter) and not such a great deal. Glad I asked about shipping before diving into this "deal". Much better deal on the far side of the pond. Still not bad for this side either if you really want Leslie, or if you are buying multiple segments that can be shipped together for a cheaper batch shipping price.
Thanks T for finding and listing it for us, though.

Yes, shipping was a bit of a shocker, would have been ruinous for a single length.
But for two lengths it worked out to less than $20/meter DW, still quite a good price for 18 oz with kilting selvedge. I expect to make a kilt for Bob and one for my bro-in-law from these pieces. Thinking of pleating to the "no stripe" green band, so that it flashes red when you walk -- but will play with it when the time comes.

Still thanking OP but glad to see the info for those who are contemplating a single length.

The fabric arrived today, just three days (including a Sunday) after FedEx was able to pick it up from the snowed-in seller. I'd have waited longer for a lower shipping price but again, for two lengths, it worked out OK. Hoping for no post-delivery surprises from FedEx's import division. . .
The fabric itself is wonderful, solid stuff, quite a bit darker colors than his flash-lit photo but should work up into a superb pair of kilts!
