			Handsewn #7 ... or is it #8? Robertson Red 18 0z.

I've actually had this kilt finished for about month now, but I kept forgetting to post pictures.
A little over a year ago, I was lucky enough to find 6½ yards of 18 ounce Robertson Red tartan. After a few delays, a couple of false starts, and a few more delays, I sewed up this:

And, because I've already pleated a Robertson Red to the sett, and have vowed to never go through that headache again ... the pleats:

Pleating to the double thin lines in the overcheck made it look too bright, and pleating to the thin red line in between the broad lines of the undercheck didn't work, so I decided on the broad lines themselves.

 Thoughts?

Being a bit of a Robertson myself, I always like the tartan. (I have a great kilt in the same tartan.)
That's a very nice looking kilt. I hope to be able to do as well myself one day.

Fantastic tartan - but I am prejudiced! Looks great pleated to the stripe - very military and military weight too.

Agreed, but they don't create the "lawnchair effect" in my eyes either. I think it looks grand! ...and I'm also a fan of your plankboard paneling!

					Hi,
Beautiful kilt, great job. I also like your paneling.
In theory there is no difference between theory and practice but in practice there is.
