Thank you for the beautiful pictures Robert. And thanks for having informed me of this great tradition I did not know existed. You and your family really have a good sense for traditions. It is important to keep alive the old traditions so they are not forgotten.
I always look forward to seeing your pictures.

Here in Norway we have a tradition of throwing out the Christmas tree and pack away the Christmas decorations on the thirteenth day in Chistmas, so I think Christmas traditions around the world have much in common even though the traditions are somewhat different.

I was thinking the same thing. My partner is Catalan, so we also normally celebrate the Kings there (it was completely unknown to me before). They also have a cake "tortell de reis" (sp?) with a king inside, finder of which can wear the crown, and a BEAN, finder of which can buy the cake next year!

...They also have a log, called "Tió" (or caga tio) who "gives" presents (at least nowadays, traditionally it was chocolate, and turróns and such sweet things). But they don't throw him on the fire, instead on Christmas day, everyone gathers round, hitting him with sticks until he makes the presents, or turróns appear... Catalans also have a character that always appears in the nativity scene called "caganer". The two characters share a strange thing in common...anyway, I won't get into details...

Well, Christmas in Catalunya is certainly fun, and delicious!

Oh, and your photos look wonderful. I think Christmas in your house would also be very special! Thanks for sharing.
