Sounds to me someone went off half cocked. Sometimes when you look for trouble you find it. He may well have been abrupt on the phone but he was answering the question asked of him. Telephone customer service is a long way from being an easy job. Granted you are always supposed to be polite and calm but that is sometimes easier said than done.
