    My first encounter with real live kilties was at York University where I was a student in the early 90s. A few graduating students had chosen to wear kilts with their gowns. I remember being quite captivated by the ornate sporrans

    Thoth51, did that inspire you to get kilted and go to a Burns night? Apparently McLaughlin College has been holding them for 19 years, so you might have been there for some of the early ones...
