Thanks for clarifying that. I'm sure your grandmother would have been very proud. My McIntosh granddad never saw me in a kilt, and I wish that he had.

I like that tartan. Don't worry about wearing a belt. If the kilt fits properly, they really aren't needed.

I really like that tartan. Congrats on the acquisition.
If you have a pin or broach that belonged to your grandmother (may she rest in peace), it would make fine kilt pin, and give you another reminder of the family connection.

I've not seen that MacPherson tartan before that I remember. I really like it, and you look terrific in it. The colors of the tartan make me wonder how a brown sporran might look (just wondering, can't be sure I would prefer it). But back to the tartan. MacPhersons from the different mills vary so widely, and the hunting, red, ancient, and muted are all so different. I wonder why the Chief choses the hunting when he could have the lovelier one like you show here? I am assuming you have seen the pictures of Cluny posted here last year in a thread about Chiefs taken by Thistledown at the Clan Chattan Band of Union resigning. You can see more at the Clan Chattan web site.

Very nice indeed! It looks to be Lochcarron's MacPherson Weathered (which is available in 16 oz.) rather than the House of Edgar's MacPherson Muted (13 oz.).

I agree, though Burnett's and Struth seems to list it alphabetically under Muted MacPherson, making it a bit harder to find!

I think all of the B&S sale casuals are Locharron tartan. A fine kilt, by the way.
