    I have a nice heavy blue wool pea-coat that with very minor alteration I think would make a smashing coat to wear with a kilt.

    It strikes me that with the usual modifications, this might be an interesting alternative to a Prince Charlie:

    I agree, that look would do me quite well, and if your heading in that direction I would love to see the end results. You have a grand idea there.

    I agree that could look good. I had seen a similar tailcoat in a movie about John Adams and wondered about the same thing. Please do post pictures if you follow up on it.
