			Tartan hose?

Hi guys. I got myself some tartan hose, however after waiting 4 weeks I received them and they werent made to the same colour as my tartan at all.
"I didn't have a dark grey, so I had to mix a light grey with blue. You can return them if you like" I was told
 and return them I shall!

I paid £78 for these hose. Does anyone have the details of a place in the UK that does them for a similar price? I will ideally need them asap, and I need to send a tartan swatch as it is special weave... so I repeat, anywhere in the UK - preferably Glasgow or Edinburgh!

Henderson Highland Hose have a massive waiting list (just incase anyone was going to suggest them)

 EDIT-here's a picture.

 Thanks!

I see nothing wrong with those socks...the colours are so close hardly anyone would notice. But of course if you are not happy...

I realise they're close but when I paid for them I was told that they'd either get an exact or they'd just return my deposit and not make the hose.

If you've paid for a perfect match, yes, indeed, you should return them. But if you were to find a pair that looked exactly like those I'd tell you to buy them - they look great with the kilt. Seriously.

I, too, think they look sharp.
Other UK prices I've seen are twice to three times the amount. You might ask some Highland dancers who makes their hose

Our colleague Josh has someone who dyes the yarn to match your tartan. I suspect that that is the best way to get a closer match. Typically you send them a swatch to match against

I agree - Complementary colors work much better, IMHO, and I think that combination you have is a great one.

Yes, yes. I dropped off a swatch of my tartan to the woman... it's just they chose to go ahead with making them with an off-colour to say "they're not a perfect match" 4 weeks later

Yup, if they did not do what they said, I'd hold them to it! But if they had said "we'll get the closest colour available, I'd buy 'em."

It's entirely possible that the camera/flash/monitor make them look better to me than to you!

That's true, however when seeing them in person they seem fine in low unnatural light but as soon as the room is bright or there's some natural light coming in they definetely look blue.I've done q uick photoshop of the colours matching and they certainly look a lot better:

I understand about them not matching exactly but they do look really good with the kilt. One seems a little short, though. If they seem durable I'd be inclined to keep them rather than risk getting something expensive that won't wear as well.
