Really, there's no pattern. I'm sure you can add hikers clasps to just about anything. If you have kilts that you've outgrown or that might have shrunk, you can probably add straps and clasps to adjust the way it fits you. It's risky, but in the end would you rather have a kilt that's too small or one that you can make fit? It's really how you look at it. If you have a kilt you want to try this on, you just lay it out and take a look at where you can put the clasps. For wrap arounds, I'm sure you would probably only need 1 row of straps and clasps. I'm thinking that for more traditional style tartans, metal clasps would match well.
