My First Mask Sporran - Skunk

I have been having a lot of people ask me about mask sporrans over the past months. I had tried once and things went really bad, so I did not want to try again. However, I had a gentlement that really wanted one. For some reason he wanted me to do it, so I gave in. I promise not to post any more pictures of future mask sporrans that I make. I just had to do this one since it is my first.

Please go easy on me as it is my first time. It definitely does not look as good as an L&M or Thorfinn, but I thought it turned out o.k. I might use different eyes next time, but not sure. I learned A LOT! This is definitely a craft that takes quite a bit of practice to get right. Anyways, here are a couple of preliminary photos. Let me know what you think.

As someone who has made sporrans I commend you on this achievement. Looks good to me. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that the eyes creep me out a little. Then again the eyes on most all full mask sporrans bother me so I am just picky.

Over all great job man. I would love to see it being worn or maybe some more detailed shots of the sporran.

    Regards
    Bishop

I will agree with you here. A fine job, but the eyes always throw me off. The draw back with sewn-shut eyes on the skunk however is that you can't actually see where the eyes have been sewn shut very easily so that some of the mask-mystique is lost. To recognize a face of any sort, we need eyes (open or closed) to help our brains out.

    So well done!

The problem with the eyes is that they should be all black, like this

Otherwise it looks like a good job. How many hours did it take you?
