    I didn't realize there was an ancient version of the hunting tartan. I assume the one I wear (from USAK) is the "modern" if not otherwise labeled?

    Yes, there is cousin. It's only made by Lochcarron and only comes in the 16 ounce weight. (strome by Lochcarron). Yours would be the modern variation. I also have the modern hunting colors in the 16 ounce weight as well.
