My waist size is bigger than my age, but close! They'll cross over in a few years, assuming my waist cooperates! I've met a few guys here who take pride in the fact that the kilt they got in their 20s still fit in their 40s. I'm thinking if I get a nice kilt that fits me really well now, it'll be good accountability to keep my weight under control.

Ain't that the truth. I've got a uniform I bought in the spring of 1997 that still fits...but my waist and chest have each grown about 2" since then...so I finally decided to buy a new one last month.
Nick's waist is way bigger than his age...if memory serves the waist is something like 27 and the age somewhere around 16.
Ok...sorry...back on topic now.

Yes another vote for Bugpiper (his Ebay moniker, real name Steve McVeigh).
He's an ex-Gordon Highlander, I believe. He has great connections with MOD suppliers and his stuff is the real deal.
About sizes, he can get real MOD kilts in any size, I'm pretty sure.
I would strongly urge anyone wanting a real MOD kilt to go with him.
He's great to deal with. I've just bought another sporran from him yesterday!

Ahhh...to be young again. When I was a little older than Nick I weighed 145 lbs soaking wet at 5' 9" with a 29" waist. I could eat anything I wanted and not gain an ounce. Now, at nearly 53 (July 4) I weigh 224 lbs and my jeans are 38s. Where I would measure for a kilt...let's just say it's less than my age I lost 20 - 25 lbs last year and I hope to do the same again this year. I'd like to finally get a kilt this year but I want to wait until I've lost more. Like Matt, if I get a good kilt it will be a real incentive not to gain anything back. My doctor would like that.
Regards,
Brian
