Sadly, I haven't had a chance to really do anything special for tartan day. I'm usually home during the day and have not really bought much tartan. If I had a job (been looking off and on with no luck, but that's ok right now), I would probably wear a bit of tartan like a ribbon or a rosette if I was unable to wear a kilted skirt. I think a ribbon or rosette would definitely make the tartan stand out as something special and not just fashion plaid for those who might not know. I'm not sure if my husband would ever be able to wear the kilt at a job, but otherwise I would consider getting him a tartan tie. We're still not sure what tartan we'll be using... I'm not really too attached to the tartan that goes with my surname for various reasons, and I'm still trying to figure out the supposed Scottish link on my husband's side (it's been one of the most difficult genealogy searches I've ever had to deal with -- very frustrating!). I would love it if we could find my husband's "link" and we could both just use that tartan.
That said, I also would possibly wear a bit of Texas Bluebonnet tartan, especially if I attended one of the Texas events or if it was on a different day.
So, unfortunately this is just another day for us (lately, it's mostly been non-kilted/tartan... ah well). Sorry for the babbling, barely got any sleep last night and I'm out of it.
