Jeff, do you think we can get the Big Army to approve wearing the ACU kilts on Tartan Day?
Chris
Long time no see!
Today I argued that all active duty personnel should be allowed to wear their respective service tartan on Tartan Day. Preferably as a kilt of course.
And for those exposed to hostile fire, they should be allowed to wear a camouflage kilt in their service's respective disruptive pattern.
Sadly, few thought it was a good idea. (It never ceases to amaze me that women like seeing men in a kilt, but many men feel "threatened" by the idea of wearing a kilt.)

I am home from work. It was a disappointing day.
I was dressed and ready to go at 06:30 this morning and my wife sent me back upstairs to take off "That Ridiculous Thing" and put on something more appropriate to our business. This was followed up with the comment that she won't "have you seen in public in That Ridiculous Thing."
I am sitting here wondering how best to get all the photos together of my stuff to start the thread in which I sell "That Ridiculous Thing" and all the accessories that go along.

Wow that is disappointing! I can't imagine what that must be like.
It's a real shame that you can't wear what you want at your own company!

I went with a friend to Sacramento's "Old Sac" area. I called here before and asked if I would embarrass her if I wore my kilt. She said no. She's used to my kilts by now.
We went to the Train Museum and walked the area. We were quite a site; 5 kids (only two were mine, one from another friend, and her two are adopted) and two adults one of which was a guy in a kilt walking around talking trains.
The pic is from right before we left. The weather is beautiful today, not too windy.

Why is she so threatened by your wearing a kilt? She's being ridiculous about it and you're just playing into her hands. If you're willing to sacrifice personal freedom for an unreasonable peace it's a sad sad day here at X Marks

I would gather up the photos, look them over and see what else would be added and follow up with the sale, but putting the wife up for sale rather than the gear. Just a thought.

Yeah, they keep me busy in my hole. I tried to talk my boss into letting me wear my kilt today, but got a long sideways glance and the response of "Not even gonna ask higher, just wear your uniform".
