Currently I have three heavyweights (solid green, solid black, and my much loved half sett weathered Lamont) and two standards (Black Stewart and Gordon)

The heavyweights are a fantastic value and they all have held up and look good over the years.

    Cheers

    1. 2 heavies ans one standard

    2. quality, price...and the wormhole

    3. i wear the heavies anywhere I would wear a kilt, although the fit on the handmade kilts I own really has caused me to wear the SWK's less and less. They are fine, but in comparison they aren't as comfortable. The acrylic standard i rarely wear.

I have one each thrifty, economy (old model), standard; three heavyweights. Value and service were the criteria. I came into the SWK camp while waiting for my first USAK to be built; bought the economy at that time.

The wool heavyweights, as others have said, are worn anywhere, and are especially favored on chilly winter evenings. The green and black shadow tartans respond very well to dressy coat-and-tie treatment.

The standard and economy have been worn just about anywhere, but the acrylic fabric is showing its age (pilling a bit). They are most often worn around the house or to the market; but I may try a lint-shaver to spruce them up. The thrifty has only been worn a couple of times. I'm planning to sew down its fell, to make it look a little spiffier; that's just a little tricky, as it's "cylindrical" construction and pleated to the sett (Irish National). The acrylic tartans look quite nice, for what they are.

I don't want to compare SWK to anyone else. Just want to how many you have, why you bought it, and when you use it.

    1. How many Stillwater kilts do you own?
    1 Standard Black watch.

    2. Why did you buy SWK? As opposed to other kilt makers.
It's my first tartan kilt after 3 Amerikilts. I chose SWK for the price and reputation.

    3. What is the main use of your SWK?
I wear it around town, going to pubs, etc.

    Two.

Black Watch Thrifty kilt, for knocking around,
MacLaren Standard, for scouting events (always a big hit, and looks good with the Venturing green shirt).

Price was the motivator, pleased with the fit and finish.

    1. How many Stillwater kilts do you own?

I own one Thrifty in Mackenzie. I plan on buying a heavy weight in a few weeks.

    2. Why did you buy SWK? As opposed to other kilt makers.

The price was the first point, followed by the outstanding laud and praise from those who have bought from Jerry. Also, the speed of delivery is almost like pavlovian training.

    3. What is the main use of your SWK?

I wear the kilt at my apartment most of the time. Sometimes when I get home from school, I will change out of my shorts into the kilt. I would wear it around campus, but I haven't worked up the gumption...yet.
