If you mean the USPS guy, you remembered wrongly. He failed to get the Utilikilt approved as a uniform option, and this couldn't have been more than 2 years ago.
Which is sad, considering the mish-mash of various items now allowed to be called postal uniforms. I still remember letter carriers with hats and badges. Now it is T-Shirts and if one is lucky a ball cap.
Distant memory here, but isn't a solid blue kilt an approved uniform alternate for male postal carriers?
I think I remember a big spitting contest over this many years ago--late 80s/early 90s mebbe?--and the carrier won. Anybody got more on it?
Why not remind your carrier that he's eligible to wear one too?

The guy's name was Dean Peterson. Here's an article. There was also a TV interview. According to the article he was going to bring it up at this year's convention. I hope they approove it.
Today, the same guy rang again on my door, I came out (in pants this time) and he started to apology himself. Apparently he mistakenly pressed our doorbell instead of neighbors across the street.
I think he just wanted to see my kilt once more time.
It sounds like he has now gone from embarrassed to curious. I would imagine that a kilt is a very rare thing to see in Slovenia. I know that some European countries have Highland Games, and my nephew participated in a Robert Burns supper in Berlin. Are there any similar events in Slovenia?
