Thanks for starting a pictures thread! Mine are not as good as the newspaper pics (but we may recognize more people!).

Here is the STM tent early in the day before the crowds arrived.

One of our museum trustees, Chuck Coburn, looking up a tartan for someone.

One of our first visitors was Lamar Britt, of Ferguson Britt sporrans, making an appearance in his Zebra fur sporran.

He hand delivered a number of sporrans for the gift shop that morning. Here's the display (which attracted a lot of petting hands during the day).

You'll see a wonderful bobcat fur sporran in there, a Japanese fallow deer, stingray, blue iris mink, and beaver.

Of course, Mr. Britt was not the only world-famous celebrity in attendance. :-) His Royal Highness Prince Edward was there. While MacMillan of Rathdown got within hand-shaking distance, this was about as close as I got (thanks to my zoom lense!)

(Actually I found out that at one point in the day the Prince was about 50 feet behind me, but I was deep in conversation with someone about tartan and missed the whole thing....)

The crowd gathered for the opening ceremonies (where the above photo of Prince Edward was taken).

Here I am with a lovely lady who just insisted on having her photo taken with such a handsome man in a kilt. :-)

(Actually, that's Mrs. Piperdh, so we know she has plenty of opportunities to take her picture with a handsome kilt-clad gentleman).

More to follow....
