Hi, Downunder, and thank you for the tip about sewing.
It’s not a skill my wife can boast of (not only did she battle in needlework class at school, but she has bad arthritis in her hands, among other parts of her body). However, my neighbour is quite a seamstress and I think I will rope her in sometime, when I have suitable material.

If you don't mind my asking, which kilted regiment were you with?
In the vintage kilt photo thread I've posted some early pics of the Transvaal Scottish (early 1900's & WWII), the 4th South African Infantry Regiment (South African Scottish), & one of a Cape Town Highlander (late 1800's).
I have a couple friends from around Johannesburg (well, one has since moved to the states) & another in New Zealand who is a SADF vet.
