Reenactors who are about flash and no substance. I am well versed in the historical use of the Highland Broadsword, in at least 2 diffrent styles. Once we were asked to preform at the Highland Games over here.

It was less then spectacular. Most people dont care if youve had to fully reconstruct your idea of how the Two-hander was used, and what source material you got it from. They just want you to look the part.
I agree... on both of those! As one of those reenactors, it drives me nuts watching groups like Castle Wall Productions, who's fights are all correographed and rehearsed. I watch them and think "Hey, man, you're footwork is horrible!" Last year, a few of them decided to come over to my group and pick a fight with us. It was like a nice little snack before lunch...

The Viking guy was sadly absent from the Chicago games, but we had a new character: the Gypsy belly dancer. She got what looked to be a pretty severe sunburn....

I think a belly dancer would even be new to the gypsies. Really, these things are getting confused all over. It will end with sumo caber tossers dressing as Bedouin nomads while square dancing to the tune of Welsh choirs.
