Morning Suit Equivalent

Seems to me that if the other men are in grey jackets, wearing a black jacket would make you not match.

If price was no object I myself would obtain a jacket in grey of about the same tone as Morning Dress jackets]

Morning coats are usually black, or at least a very dark, dark grey. Mine certainly is black. Now one can have a great morning suit, but that would fall under the "extras" category.
