Those are really fine hose. I'm sure you're very proud of them.

Now you've got to share the details: what yarn? what needles? your own pattern or an adaptation? and all that other stuff we need to know.

Most of that info is in the original thread, linked in OP here. Paton's Classic wool on size 5 DPNs, the cable pattern was purchased and integrated into Calanacraft's ribbed calf pattern but I had to figure out how to "end" it above the ankles.

I'll try to get them modeled tonight for more photos. Thanks to all for the wonderful reactions and encouraging comments! I'm already planning what goes on the needles next. . . but I'll let them cool for a short time while I think about it.

OK, finally got them "on the hoof." The major disappointment is that they are too long! This despite carefully slipping them onto his leg while still on the needles, to gauge the length. . . so now I need to rip them up almost to the end of the cable and start the heel flap from there. Sometime. Meanwhile, we double-folded the cuff so they looked OK for a day at the Vista Games, with Leatherneck tartan.

They also need garter ties or significantly shorter flashes, but that's an easy fix. Meantime I am nearly finished with my next pair, to be unveiled in another week or so!

Shorter flashes or garter ties aside these are an amazing pair of hose. Well done indeed!

Out standing job. I would wash them a few time before frogging to get a shorter length. Some super wash does "shrink" after washing.

Those look great! I love how thick the cabling looks.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

    Beautiful!

(Quote)..."so now I need to rip them up almost to the end of the cable and start the heel flap from there. Sometime."

Personally, I think getting a taller model may be a better solution!!

And, if you decide to start taking applications, I don't have a pair of red hose yet...just sayin'

All joking aside, those are lovely hose! I am always amazed by people who have such artistic talent, and patience. Thanks for sharing them with us.
