    Latest X-Kilt (knife pleats)

ith:Thought I'd post some pics of the latest Kilt. I did this one with the velcro X-Kilt front closure, Mar-Pat cotton fabric, full sized over apron, knife pleats, two 3" belt loops in the back.

I liked the ease of the X-Kilt pattern, and of course the ability to make ones own kilt. The smaller over apron on the modern type kilts is a bit small in opinion so I thought combine what I liked about the X-kilt and the traditional Kilt like the full size apron and I like knife pleats a bit more than the box.

It was a fun project to work on, and I like it almost as much as my heavy weight full wool tartan kilt.

looks great! Will there be 'Hamish pleat shot' pix soon?

I'm always tempted to use Alan's x-kilt pattern, I just always seem to be too busy. I really want to make one for my son though in a nice green tweed.

Sorry to ask, but I am new here and I don't know what a 'Hamish pleat shot' is. Can someone enlighten me?

Great! I did the same thing, except I made mine a reverse kinguisse. But I've made several standard knife pleat camo kilts. They work great and look good.

Nice work. You did a great job of customizing the X-Kilt plans.

    Thanks for the compliments.
As for the Hamish Pleat Shot.....I'm not sure I could justice to it, and I would not want to mock in any way....I'll think about it.

    Long Live Xmarkthescot!!!
