Overall a really good day we had some rain but not enough to spoil it, With the arena and grounds being so big it was difficult to get about and catch all that was going on some of the solo pipers were amazing especially when you consider they are 8 or 10 years old!.

Very nice, the Spirit of Scotland tartan pleated to the line. I like the fact that more bands are moving away from the old standby tartans (RS, PCES, MacLean of Duart, etc) and going with newer ones.
It's interesting: Spirit of Scotland is a rather dark tartan, but this band, by having everything else in their kit dark, is allowing the beauty of the tartan to show.
Here's the Gramian Corby Pipe Band who also wear this tartan:
(Note that their kilts are pleated to the pairs of light blue lines, making the rear of the kilt brighter and bluer than the tartan itself.)

Crackin' set of pictures. Sorry I missed the Gig and the Gathering. Nair mind, there's always next year. Thanks too OC for the lowdown on Spirit of Scotland tartan. You're right, it is striking.
I saw the Chillies last year in Dumfries and thought they were terrific. It was an open air gig, right in the town centre and they really got the whole crowd bouncing.
I do also appreciate subtlety though so I shall have to look into The Trybe. Thanks for the tip.
