Nerts - That looks a very English pin. As nice as it is I would not wear it on a kilt. My good lady being a Brum would happily wear it with ordinary clothes.

This is the pin I wear on my U.S. Army tartan. It is the pin that I am proudest of because it was a gift from one of my Cub Scouts. His dad told me that he bought it with his own money. This is one of my most treasured posessions.

When I was growing up, my parents pulled out this pin whenever there was a very large securing job. I didn't realize until later that it was a kilt pin! The purple stone probably isn't real but I don't mind, and one of my sgians also has a purple stone. It's special to me for sentimental reasons; reminds me of my childhood.

Beautiful pins, everyone. I collect brooches and pins and would be glad to get my hands on all of these! Keep 'em coming.

Tatonka, That's a great pin. When I get around to ordering my kilt in U.S. Army Tartan, I plan on using the crossed pistols as I was an M.P. Undecided if they will be the bright brass or the black.

One of pdcorlis' famed "flypins" -- this is the "Rob Roy". The tartan is the Iowa state tartan.

I've had my eye on one of those for a long time, you know. My dad ties flies and used to make something very similar. I must get on him to make me one!
