I guess I was lucky. All my history teachers were males. My engish terachers were females, mostly young and attractive. My teachers instilled in me a certain pride in my studies. I am by no means a Rhodes Scholar, but I excelled in History. In one of my classes, I was assigned a book to read and write a report on. We were told to come dressed as a character in the book. The title of the book escapes me now, but I do remember it was about WWII. I came dressed as an American soldier. From steel pot to jump boots, I studied uniforming before I went to class. All I am saying , is to honor what you are doing. If it is a book report in 7th grade or wearing another's national dress to a function. I like wearing the kilt. I like going to festivals. After readiang so many posts about headwear on xmarks, I choose not to cover my head, for fear of upsetting someone. I will not wear my real men t shirt without the kilt. I try to wear the kilt in a modest way. No fly plaid on the argyll. With my wife having German and Austrian heritage, I like to go to Oktoberfest celebrations. I do not have lederhoesen. I do have a shirt and vest that I brought home from Germany. Looks good with jeans. I try not to abuse the senses of people that have actually lived in europe. At the local fests, I have had people come up to me and start speaking in german. As most of you know, I haven't mastered english yet. Joan gets me out of trouble. A lot.
Wear the kilts more often and different places. We must educate the masses who think we are wearing skirts. I will wear my kilt to Redneck day at the county 4h fair. (pick a day, every day is redneck day). I just wish I could wear a hidden camera.
Second rant over. Past my bedtime. The people at the home want me to turn my lights out.
