Many thanks!
I appreciate all of the advice and encouragement. I do own several kilts including a hand-made family tartan. The UK is just a little more comfortable to wear to work because I can wear a polo and some hikers or sandals. Today I went with the Workman and sandals and a black polo. I was giving instruction to teachers to prep for the fall. 30 people in the room and no one was shocked to see me kilted again. They just assumed I had been doing it all summer.
My original post was meant to ask how do I get the urge back to kilt more often. It felt good going pants-less today at work and it was a humid scorcher in the North. I'll kilt again this week likely in a Stillwater or a different UK to get back in the 'swing' of things. I think the advice of buying something new and jonesing a little may help.

Well done, bro!
For whatever it's worth, the tartan kilt goes just fine with polo and sandals. It may not be your personal style, but don't rule it out unconditionally!

Pictures! Pictures!
If that is the kilt we swapped for, I'd love to the modifications.
I find that the more someone can identify that I am wearing a kilt, the more comfortable I am to be be kilted... and so I usually wear a simple three tassel sporran with my UK.
(Picked up a couple of snap-around-the-belt keychain holders and do those around the double-belt loops in front, then hang the sporran between them.)
Depending on the weather, I'll sometimes wear knee-socks and flashes, though in our recent heat-wave I've been bare-legged.

Great going. As far as tartan or not, if you want it to be an everyday dress item, treat it like an everyday dress item. Business casual (no tie, oxford shirt, even a polo) goes just as well with a traditional tartan kilt as it does with a UK, in fact the games I go to are usually in the Summer and all in the South, so the polo is really my go to garment for day/work wear as well as for games and festivals (an Argyle would just make me look like one of those guys you see straggling out of the Sahara drenched in sweat and half dead), and I think most of the Keen products look great with a kilt for non-dress wear.
Remember, you don't dress in full khaki drill like Allan Quartemain, when you wear cargo shorts so why act like you wear a uniform when you wear a tartan kilt? Keep your normal dress and substitute any kilt for your pants/shorts.
The only time I would go for the UK is when working or hiking. There is nothing so heart wrenching as hearing 16oz Strome being ripped by some tool or machinery.
