Ah...I too thought this was some thread about something else, like releasing some horrible gaseous stench inside a bar that would cause everyone to evacuate the building...

Don't you just love it when a plan comes together?
Weight over the bar is an event that responds well to practice so try to get some non-comp throws in if you can.

Good job, mate! Congratulations!
o1d one is right. WOB does respond to practice, so don't be shy about flinging that thing over a tree branch in the park.
If you're going to spend some gym time, then think about doing hang cleans and dumbell snatches to help with WOB. Dead lifts, quickly, are good, and if dead lifts mess with your lower back then look up "suitcase dead lifts" on YouTube and try those. Try doing exercises that make you stand up quickly with heavy-ish, but moderate weight. Pushing for personal max in the weight room is probably not what you want to be doing at this point in the season, but moving lighter weights FAST is absolutely A-OK.

I'm in an odd position as I work part time night shifts so I sleep during the day. the nights I don't work I hit the gym. doing all my work outs at 2am or 3am I don't get to have any spotters so I tend to stay with machines. less risk of injury but limits on how much iron I can move. I'm just about maxxed on what we have at the gym but its better then sitting at home. I really will need to get some implements to throw around on my own. Till then its move iron and make do.
I didn't get any time in the gym till half way threw this season and it did help for the brunswick games I just made sure I took the week leading up to the games off.
