I would so love to find out how the experts rate the menu items at The Duke of Perth here in Chicago.*

    http://dukeofperth.com/food.htm

I'd also like to say that I recently got my cholesterol tested and I basically have very little of the bad stuff and a reasonable amount of the good stuff. I credit this to my Trans-Northern European heritage. As my daughter says, "I can't understand it...you eat all the crap that people aren't supposed to eat and you STILL have no cholesterol!"

    Best

    AA

*Full disclosure...no, I do not have any financial interest in the Duke but I do have a bar stool that is formally considered "mine" now...and...the chef at the Duke is of Mexican-American extraction...how's that for the genuine article?

A thread on Scottish soul food with nary a mention of Mince n tatties or Stovies is an abomination.

Having said that, and drooling at the mince pie, man I'm hungry now.

as for deep fried pizza....if ye huvnae tried it, dinnae knock it

Don’t know how the Scots feel about steak and kidney pie (widely known as Kate and Sidney pie ), but it’s one of my favourites.
My wife will occasionally eat it, but is not too keen on organ meat.
On the other hand, I love a good dish of liver and onions. A pub a few kilometres from our house serves an excellent line in it.
    Regards,
    Mike

I really don't want to drag this TOO far off topic but Charles' reference to deep fried pizza made me think of this:
