WAAAAAAAAAR EAGLE! Been wearing kilts for a few years now, and I'm going to drive to Auburn if a few weeks just to see if there's some orange and blue tartan so I can make me a tiger kilt in time for football homecoming. Lacking that, I'm sure I can find some cheap blue denim and if necessary buy some orange denim off the web so I can piece one together.
Have you ever seen a Tide kilt? I'm sure there's a crimson and white tarten out there you could co-opt.
I already have one in purple with gold stripes - I hate I didn't have it in Atlanta where all the LSU fans were for the recent pre-season event.
Why must you soil my thread with such foul language? lol.
I know there's an auburn tartan somewhere because I saw one online when looking for a Crimson Tide one.
I haven't really foudn one yet but I was thinking maybe a dress stewart or something of that nature would work also.
Either way, I'll be at the Iron Bowl in my Royal Stewart so if you end up coming to Tuscaloosa that day, we might see each other.
While I am a Georgia Dawg, I know for a fact there is an official Auburn Tartan. Google the Scottish Register of Tartans. However there is not a University of Alabama Tartan. There are a number of tartans though you could use for Roll Tide. I think a Hamilton Gray and then you could wear a Crimson shirt that would look pretty good.
BTW I know what you mean as far as making it to highland games vs. Football in the South. The Stone Mountain Games fall on Tn/Ga weekend soooo.....probably will miss Saturday's highland games. Also wearing your kilt on gamedays will get A LOT of attention, if yall do a bunch of tailgaiting (which I know yall do) You will recieve a lot of comments both positive and negative, just be prepared to be overwhelmed with attention.
Cheers
