I didn't give it more than a passing glance as I drove by, but it looked like a BSA 500cc single circa 1939. The engine in the Beezer was a horizontal single, and they were affectionately known as "hemorrhoid hammers" by those unfortunate enough to have to ride them. In the mid-1960s you could by an ex-WD Beezer for about GBP150 in the crate, and a spare engine/gearbox was about GBP35.
