One of the things that I take real pride in doing at the museum is to connect craftsmen to the people who really can appreciate their work. It's nice to see Ryan's bonnets getting out there, getting worn, and being appreciated.
(I have two myself!)

I was going to post a new thread on this, but I'll just add in my $0.02 here.
I just received my bonnet from Ryan through the STM.
It is just plain gorgeous. Ryan tried out some new yarn (which I'll let him talk about). He worked with me (picky as I am) to get just the right colour. The colour shown is the yarn's natural colour.

The bonnet is fantastically made. It's soft, thick, and wonderfully felted with no visible knitting. I started shaping it to my head last night (soak and then wear as it dries, aka "jocking yer bonnet") and the bonnet is nearly waterproof!
It is wonderfully comfortable to wear, and the wool Ryan chose is VERY soft and quite breathable.
I will definitely end up with another Ryan Ross custom bonnet in the near future... perhaps this time something in green?
The only thing I have left to say is:

If you don't have a Ryan Ross bonnet, you NEED a Ryan Ross bonnet!
Thanks again!

Word.

HaHA!!! Thanks so much, Scott! Aye, Scott's is knit with a Rambouillet yarn that was hand spun by a very nice lady named Betty Johnson. Not one of my usual offerings, but it was a very successful venture, I think. More details(and plenty of pictures) to come.
Thanks, Scott.

Those are fine bonnets indeed, Ryan!
And Aaron, your wee lad looks great in his.
When I have grandchildren, I will have to get something like this.

Well, it did.
Just ordered two: dark blue, and green.

I got in an order for a custom British khaki bonnet a while back, and I'm considering making it a standard option.
I wanted to get some feedback from the rabble, though, first. What do you all think of the color?
