    Nor does it have any historical basis; but Celtic Croft can get you one.

    I'd certainly get swatches, so that you can check out the colors and textures. Compared to the kilt, swatches are practically free.

    As has already been said, it is a fairly open weave, somewhat coarse, but the feel of it adds to the earthiness of the tartan. I love wearing it, and often think a great kilt in this tartan would be so good.

    The Celtic Croft makes many of their kilts themselves, including the Braveheart kilts and phillabegs.
