    A great first step! With time, they'll accept it as normal... and maybe some of them will even take an interest too.

    I'd have probably skipped the steel-toed boots, though, and gone for a more traditional approach, this being a holiday-based family function. Especially when trying to drum up family interest in traditional Scottish attire. Maybe next holiday you could give that a whirl!

    Maybe, but I was just so comfortable in those boots. They do go well with the kilt in informal circumstances and they look pretty good despite being so well worn in on the inside. For Christmas I am hoping to visit my grandmother in full hose and dress shoes. She'd get a kick out of it.
