Rare earth magnets, superglue and metal strips work fine for some of my kilt pins. The only problem I have had with them is proximity.... have to watch getting in and out of the truck, standing too close to the soda vending machine, shopping carts at the market, etc.

I've tried rare earth magnets without success. I would not recommend them.

I've tried magnets. I found my kilt became very attracted to my fridge.

If anyone has a source for obtaining clutch pins, as in, just the pins for making/repairing push-pin badges, I'd be ever so grateful. I've been looking off and on for over a year and not found any.

John, try these. On sale on eBay at the moment.

    270659032210 - 50 of 10mm Flat Pad Tie Pin & Clutch - £10.50 - Buy it Now

    or

    270659032207 - 5 of Silver Plate 5mm Flat Pad Tie Pin & Clutch - £1.50 - Buy it Now

I did a general search for 'clutch pin' and when all 5 million items came up, refined search to 'craft'.

    Hope it helps

    Regards

    Chas
